This would have been me in a high school: the world’s biggest bitch….Well, I guess that hasn’t really changed over the past two years…

  6. whendavidheard-deactivated20130 asked: West Virginia, University of Maryland College Park, Towson, James Madison, South Carolina and Shenanadoah. :) Where do you go?

I go to Adams State University (previously Adams State College, this is the first semester with the new change). My major is Music Education with an emphasis in tuba and low brass. I also sing in most of the choirs, play bass trombone in the jazz band, and bass and steel drums in the steel drum band. Thought his next semester I’m student teaching! Woot!

  7. whendavidheard-deactivated20130 asked: Awesome, thanks! I plan to be a music education major as well! What level do you plan to teach? I haven't completely decided on the pieces yet. Definintely Carnival of Venice (Briccialdi), and probably Andante et Scherzo (Ganne) and either the a movement of the Hindemith Sonata for flute or the Poulenc sonata. Thanks again!! :)

First of all I’m very happy to see someone aspiring to teach music! I plan on doing high school or 6-12. And looks like you’ve got a good repertoire to start college with. Look forward to hearing! Where are you applying?

  9. band-the-naked-truth asked: Thanks for the advice! I did play bass trombone in Jazz band, and it is so much fun. Would die to have my own!

I don’t own my own bass trombone, but the school horn I use is amazing. Double Thayer Getzen. And that Bobo mouthpiece is perfect for tuba players!!! It’s a tenor tuba mouthpiece. So basically a tuba cup on a brass trombone shank. I wouldn’t use anything else.
